  • ·      A teenager named Jack Andraka have discovered a cheap way to detect cancer in the organ.
  • ·      He had started researcing about pancreatic cancer at the age of 13 years old.
  • ·      He learned that most pancreatic victims found out that they have developed cancer way too late.
  • ·      Through google and wikipedia he found out that the first step to pancreatic cancer is the existence of a particular protein, named mesothelin.
  • ·      Jack had found the way out to detect cancer in a biology class, when he was reading an article under his desk.
  • ·      He made paper sensors in order to detect the protein in the blood.
  • ·      He had been awarded the 2012 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair grand prize and the Smithsonian magazine’s first annual American Ingenuity Award for youth achievement.
